Psalm 91 All Who Dwell In The Shelter

  1. Psalm 91 All Who Dwell In The Shelter -:-- / -:--

All who dwell in the shelter of God, our Lord the most high
and abide beneath the shadow of the mighty one,
shall say to the Lord: ‘You are my rock, my fortress and refuge;
my God in whom I trust”.

Surely He will protect you from evil powers that destroy;
you shall rest beneath the cover of His wings, in peace;
and you shall not fear terror at night, nor arrows by daylight.
His goodness is your shield;
and you will not fear terror at night, nor arrows by daylight.
His faithfulness is sure.

Plagues may bring devastation, and thousands fall at your side,
yet the plague shall not come near you or destroy your peace.
Because you have made God the most high your dwelling and shelter,
the Lord will be your shield;
Because you have said God is my rock, my fortress and refuge;
the Lord will be your shield.

The Talmud calls Psalm 91 the “song of plagues” for “one who recites it with faith in God will be helped by Him in time of danger”. Jewish tradition ascribes it to Moses who composed this psalm while ascending into the cloud hovering over Mount Sinai, at which time he recited these words as protection from the angels of destruction.
